Learn From People Who Actually Get It

Our instructors aren't reading from textbooks. They've been in the trenches - managing household budgets during tough times, making real financial decisions that affected their families, and learning what actually works versus what sounds good in theory.

Teaching personal finance isn't about fancy credentials here. It's about connecting with people who need practical guidance. Each instructor brings years of experience helping Australians navigate everything from everyday budgeting to long-term planning.

We started recruiting our team back in 2023, looking specifically for educators who could translate complex financial concepts into conversations you'd have over coffee. That approach shaped everything we do.

Two perspectives, one mission - making financial literacy accessible to everyone in Australia

Instructor Callum Pemberton teaching personal finance strategies

Callum Pemberton

Senior Financial Educator

Callum spent fifteen years working in community banking before switching to education in 2021. He's seen how small financial decisions compound over time - both the good ones and the mistakes people make without proper guidance.

His teaching style is straightforward. No jargon unless absolutely necessary, and even then, he explains it in plain language. Students appreciate that he shares his own past financial missteps alongside success stories.

Freya Lundqvist

Investment Education Specialist

Freya came to financial education through an unusual path - she was a high school teacher for eight years before retraining in financial planning. That teaching background shows in how she structures lessons and checks for understanding.

She joined our team in early 2024 and immediately brought fresh approaches to explaining investment concepts. Her sessions often include real portfolio examples and case studies from everyday Australians building wealth gradually.

How We Actually Teach This Stuff

Our approach developed organically over the past couple of years. We tried various methods and kept what worked - what helped students actually change their financial behaviors, not just pass quizzes.

Classes are small. Usually eight to twelve people. That's deliberate. When someone asks about their specific situation, we can spend time on it. Those real questions often lead to the best learning moments for everyone.

  • We start where you are, not where a curriculum says you should be
  • Real numbers from real situations - anonymized, but authentic
  • Follow-up sessions three months later to address actual challenges
  • Open door policy for questions between scheduled classes
  • Resources you can actually use, not theoretical frameworks

Our next intake begins September 2025. We're keeping class sizes limited because that's what works. The mentorship component continues through November, giving students time to implement strategies and come back with questions.
